Wine Making
Vinification: Combination of new & seasoned French and American hogsheads for 24 months.
Vintage Conditions: Good winter rainfall meant near full soil moisture profiles at budburst. Moderate rain during early spring encouraged good shoot growth, with a quick and even flowering resulting in excellent fruit set. Mild & dry conditions, without any significant extremes continued throughout the growing season. Production levels were excellent, above long term averages and the mild & slow ripening conditions enabled strong varietal character to develop. Vintage was dry and the weather stable so fruit was harvested, at optimal flavour development and high natural acidity. A “goldilocks” vintage.
Vine Clone: BVRC 30

Awards/Reviews
95 Wine Orbit- “Gorgeously ripe and enticing, the bouquet shows blackberry, toasted spice, cedar and vanilla aromas, leading to a wonderfully weighted palate thats supple and expansive. Splendidly styled with excellent complexity, finishing velvety and delectable.”- Sam Kim January 2024
94 Wine Showcase Magazine
93 Wine Business Magazine – “A meaty, full and potent Shiraz with lots of ripe red berry fruit characters, raspberry, cherry, strawberry, all of which are married to saltbush, salted liquorice, cardamom spice notes, mint and faint eucalpytus. Pleasing stuff and distinctly regional. The texture is round and broad with a sheath of grunty tannin tightening to a chewy pucker. ” – Mike Bennie June 2024
92 Halliday- “Purple violets, blueberries and bilberry. Blackcurrant jam and cassia bark spice. A dusty hint of powdered cinnamon and Nyons olive. The palate shows acute angles and elements of tobacco, leather and clove. Tannins are fine and integrated, and the woodsy spice shines through.”- Shanteh Wale February 2024
