We were both born in the Limestone Coast and despite having lived in other parts of Australia and the World we chose to come back to this beautiful region.
When Chardonnay Lodge opened in 1984 it became part of our life growing up and we spent many occasions here from family dinners to first dates to weddings. When the opportunity came up to have this wonderful Coonawarra landmark as our Cellar Door, we jumped at it.
The Lodge was recently reopened after a considerable break, new owners Margaret and Craig Bell are passionate about ensuring that the locals and visitors alike enjoy a great experience when visiting the region. Chardonnay Lodge offers Eight at the Gate’s cellar door along with function and conferencing facilities and a wonderful restaurant.
Situated in the heart of Coonawarra it is surrounded by vineyards. An atmosphere of uniqueness has been created with the main building’s spectacular architecture, extensive established lawn and garden areas, also offering superb regional cuisine in one of the district’s most renowned restaurants.
Open 6 days a week for tastings from 10.30-3.30pm, enjoy a wine with your lunch or dinner with a booking. Closed Thursdays.
