2023 Pinot Gris Single Vineyard

Fresh aromas of pink lady apples and ripe Buerre Bosc pears cascade from the glass. The palate shows green apple and chalky minerality finishing with a soft touch of wild honey.

There’s a fleshy tension to the wine from skin contact which is beautifully balanced with crisp varietal acidity.

Details

We have grown Pinot Gris for decades but this is the first time we have put it into a bottle of our own.

We are so happy with the result. Aromas of fragrant fruit blossom dance on your senses.

Savour the luscious embrace of fleshy apple and pear, whilst the refreshing acidity leads you to a satisfyingly dry finale.

Wine Making

Vinification: Pressed quickly to avoid skin contact and colour pickup. Tank fermented to dryness.

Vintage Conditions: Good winter rains set a positive start to the growing season with ample soil moisture and no frost events. The cooler conditions delayed vine growth and flowering was later than average. Fruit set was influenced by the cooler season and some varieties yielded below average. The cool & mild conditions continued throughout and subsequently delayed harvest giving the fruit ample time to develop delicate flavours.
