Well we have had a lovely amount rain which is great for our vineyard. Makes the ever imminent frost season a little less scary as having good subsoil moisture at budburst helps to keep the ground a bit warmer.
It has been rather cold though so the winter woolies are getting a good workout ????????
So much water laying around can make tractor work a bit tough and messy.
We barrel prune sections of the vineyard first then we hand prune to get the structure of the vines just right ready for the coming season.
Here is a bit of a look at the vineyard from the air. You can see where the water drains towards the runaway holes which are left when an underground cave collapses.
