Vinification: 26 months in new & seasoned French Oak hogsheads.
Vintage Conditions: 2016 was a standout vintage for Shiraz. The fruit was particularly intense in colour and flavour, as showcased in this Family Selection, single varietal Shiraz. Autumn and winter were dry and cool which meant the start of the growing season was slightly delayed. Winter rainfall was low and some irrigation was used to replenish the soil moisture. Relatively mild summer climatic conditions with warm days and cool nights. An absence of extreme heat ensured even ripening therefore intensifying the varietal characteristics.

Wine Reviewer Comments
Richly fruited and instantly appealing, the wine shows blackberry, vanilla, cedar, smoked game and warm spice aromas on the nose. It’s concentrated and wonderfully weighted with excellent power and persistency, backed by polished tannins, finishing impressively long and silky – Wine Orbit
Developing gracefully with good intensity of plum, rhubarb and spicy oak – Winestate Magazine
Deep dark red with a nose showing violets, citrus rind, roasted meat, pepper, licorice, dark berry jam, dried mint and chocolate. The palate is dry but has a creamy push of raspberry, mulberry, cassis and blackberry, backed by dried herbals, tobacco and oak. A red berry acidity cuts and lifts, giving tension and slight tartness to the fruit. It fades cleanly with raspberry and apple skins – iHeartwine
