Vintage Conditions: 2016 was a standout vintage for all red varieties. The characteristics of our Cabernet and our Shiraz that year were perfect to create our popular signature red blend, a classic Australian Cab Shiraz. Autumn and winter were dry and cool which meant the start of the growing season was slightly delayed. Rainfall was low and some irrigation was used to replenish the soil moisture. Relatively mild summer climatic conditions with warm days and cool nights. An absence of extreme heat ensured the fruit was able to ripen evenly and the flavours intensify.

Ripe, juicy and fairly straightforward on the nose, it has a bit of a leafy lift to it as well that builds the complexity. There’s dark plummy flavours and a touch of chocolate and some typical cabernet leafiness, but not green and underripe.
